Nuisance Phone Calls.
We have had a lot of customers contact us about phone calls from people saying they are from Microsoft or one of their

agents.
The caller then asks the customer to go through certain steps on their computer and shows them what appear to be a lot of

errors. Occasionally the customer is instructed to allow the caller to remotely access their computer over the internet.
The calls almost always end the same way with the customer being told that there is a big problem and that it can be fixed

for around £130.
We have spoken to Microsoft about these calls and their official position on this is that Microsoft will never make an

unsolicited call to an end user.
We have received calls like this at the shop in Colwyn Bay and have had reports of similar calls from customers in

Llandudno, Rhyl, Abergele  and even further afield.
If you receive a call from anyone who says they are from Microsoft please do not let them access your computer. Hang up the

phone and if they call back just hang up again. These people are trying to get your bank details and will not fix your

computer, in fact they can make it a lot worse.
If you have received a call like this and have allowed remote access we can make sure that they cannot get access again and

also that they have not installed anything untoward on the system. Our fully equipped workshop in Colwyn Bay can ensure

your information cannot be accessed from the internet.
There is a Website dedicated to fraud and Internet crime for you to report calls like this if you wish.
